Nice review. Just read it. Screen shots are pretty helpful too!
I'll probably try it out tonight after i reinstall 2k.

I meant "King" due to the sheer number of desktops that run MS Windows. It definitely wasn't meant to portray Windows as the "best". Starsky, thanks for the compliment it really means a lot to me that people find the things we write excellent.

I spotted at link at [H]ardOCP to your VMWare article. Thanks for writing up your experience on VMWare, using a Windows2K host. I hope you'll post up another one when you install the Linux host version, that's the one I'm most interested in trying out.

I've always planned on installing VMware on a linux Host but currently I don't have an extra drive that I can keep for a long period of time. If I do you can bet your ass I'll write something up on it. I have installed once before about 2 years ago but I couldn't tell you anything about it except that it worked and worked well! Thanks for visiting and tell all your friends about us. I know a shameless plea for free advertising but hey we have to make a living somehow.[ ]

It's a great article. Very informative. My question tho, you say you can run win98 under win2k using VMWare. I don't care for Win98, except for packet writing. Win2K does not support packet writing(DirectCD) for CDRW disc's, and this is something I used a lot in the past. Can VMWare, running Win98, perform packet writing, even tho you are in Win2K which doesn't support packet writing. If so, that is cool. No more restarting(I dual boot now) just to copy to a CDRW.

That's an excellent question Hummer010 so I just fired off an e-mail to my Tech contact at VMware and am awaiting his reply. Will let you know ASAP
