...but maybe someone will surprise me.

My old laptop finally went belly up on me, and I do not have the means to replace it atm because I'm currently between jobs.

Right now my only internet access is through the library-very limited on the library PCs. With a laptop, there is wireless at the library, YMCA, and other hotspots around town.

Does anyone have an old laptop sitting around gathering dust they would be willing to part with for shipping, and maybe a promise of future payment when I do get a job?

I don't care how slow it is if it will work and run XP (the only OS I have a copy of. Killdisk is great for erasing the hard drive). I don't even care if the battery works

you're quite a ways from chicago, but you could even save the shipping if you're up for a drive.

My wife always yells at me for saving this shit.

Somewhere, in one of these "parts" boxes, I have a Sony something or other, runs great other than no battery. let me find it this afternoon and i'll post the vitals.

I wish everyday was this easy in finding things

PCG-Z1AP is the laptop model
PCG-571L appears to be the battery

boots up just fine

Will drivers for the PCG-Z1AP1 work with the PCG-Z1AP? I can't find the PCG-Z1AP drivers on Sony tech support
