Arctic Alumina is a LOT cheaper than Arctic Silver, Spot must have slipped up a little here. Yes, Arctic Alumina barely costs more per gram, but that's because Aluminum Oxide and Boron don't have as much mass as Silver and Silicone. When you apply heatsink compound to your CPU, you don't say "Nurse! I need 0.5 grams, stat!" you put on however much it takes to cover the chip. The Arctic Alumina may only get you 1.70 grams, but you don't need the same mass of compound as you do with Arctic Silver; you just need the same volume of compound. The Arctic Alumina and Arctic Silver II tubes contain the same volume of thermal compound, you'll get the same amount of usage from each tube; one costs $3.95, one costs $7.00.

Thanks Kremlin for pointing that out. I verified it and updated the article to reflect what you said.

I read AS's site 30 times and must have skipped that fact every time.

Again,... thanks for the feedback. It's always appreciated. [8D]
