Since I wrote the review I thought I should post in this thread.

This mouse is awesome, simple yet accurate. I truly love it.

Actually I haven't used a scroll wheel yet that was perfect. This logitech mouse and my MS wheel mouse both are clicky wheels and if you move it between clicks you'll get partial scrolling which screws me up all the time. Maybe a smooth scrolling wheel would be better?

Well yea, but the clicks keep it from just jamming right down to the bottom of the page... I wouldn't mind that i guess.. Vroommmmmmmm!!!!! [Sticking out Tongue]

You should get your paws on a Razor Boomslang. The scroll wheel has twice as many "click" when you scroll it for more accuracy. It has the best "scroller" I have ever tried - very precise and smooth.

Also very expensive, what is the MSRP on a Razor Boomslang? Like $100 USD!

Not bad prices for the Razor Boomslang, but what is the difference between the 1000 and the 2000? And are they optical?

As a side note, I was talking to a fellow tech weenie at work and he was talking about his girlfriend's opti mouse and how it wouldn't work well on plain white surfaces! Just now I whipped out my big 10"...uh I mean my printer paper and the mouse worked flawlessly even while moving the mouse wildly from side to side. Not a skip or jump or jitter. The package that the mouse came in said it had 2nd generation optics so I guess they work pretty darn well!

ONe of the problems opti-mice have is if acceleration is turned on. Try turning it off and yes I'd would load the Logitech drivers since MS drivers suck butt.

I downloaded the lastest drivers at the time I wrote the article which were the 9.24 drivers. Unfortunately due to a problem with my vid card(it's a POS) I cannot verify BAFKE's claim that it doesn't work under UT. I will be receiving a new ASUS V7100 GeForce2 MX card shortly and once installed will load UT, test it out and post it here!

I still enjoy my Intellimouse Explorer. It definitely beats the Logitech in one warea, those 5 buttons that come in handy for gaming.

It's funny those extra buttons are exactly why I dislike the MS Intellimouse Explorer. Different mice for different folks.
