On heatsinks that are 60mm x 80mm, I have come to the conclusion that these fan adapters are crap!! The direct mounting of a standard (30 cfm) 80mm case fan to the heatsink via wire or zipties seem to work the best to replace the stock low output 60mm fans. In my quick trials, the adapter added approximately another 5-7°F to the readings most likely due to the back pressure from the adapter. I used rubber bands as a quick temporary method to attach the fan to the heatsink. I tested this method with the Coolermaster 60 x 80 aluminum heatsink as well as the Thermalright CB-6L nickel plated aluminum heatsink.

So save your money if you're thinking about picking up one...

Amen to that. I tried one on a Volcano 6cu+ with the fan that's currently cooling my AX-7, and it sucked long and hard (pun intended). I still have it, though...I might use it as a trick coaster.

"What's that? Say, where'd that ring come from? I put it on a...ohhhh!"

My temp didn't change much except for maybe down 1c going from the 6800rpm 60mm 38cfm Delta to a 44 cfm YStech 80mm. Seems to me it doesn't do much considering the extra airflow. I will try it with some zip ties next.
