I don't do much OC'in yet due to my lack of funds for proper cooling...AMD 1200 at 1333. My friend however, has a water cooling system, and has had his XP1600+ at 1910mhz unlocked, and non-voltage modded. He has recently dropped his speeds back a little to 1670 mhz until he gets a stronger pump. Still pretty coo as far as I'm concerned. Smile Definately makes me want to go the water cooling route for cooling. Smile Think of what I could push my gf3 to...heh.

What mobo & RAM you are running, squito? My chip would love a stronger board as it's an AGOIA stepping, but that K7S5A is crap when it comes to o/c'ing.

I love my Abit KX7-333. There's at least 3 of us (see Smokin's post above) that are running them. I would definitely recommend it, especially now when it's like $89.00.

I just picked up some samsung PC2700. I've now had my 1.6A running at 2580!! And stable too!! No warm boot though Sad Smile. Supposedly I can VID pin the P4 to make it warm boot at that speed. I also have a fancy Alpha heatsink on the way that should help out a little.

well since my abit kx7-333 has the new bios which supports the 2200+ automaticaly *you dont have to adjust the multiplier, my friends kx7-333 must have had an older bios because it only supported up to the 2000+ automaticaly* i set it to 2200+ speed, and when windows booted up i noticed that it was only running at 1.75ghz *DOH!!!* aren't 2200+ supposed to run at 1.8???

then it struck me, LOCKED PROCESSOR!!! *DUH!!!* i guess ill have to unlock my 2100+ to get it higher

This link may help:

http://www.cluboverclocker.com/guides/amd_unlocking/index.htm

It's an unlocking guide (a good one, too) that I got off of another web site.

'Ere we go (you know, I've been waiting so desperately to show off)

Main Rig:
Pentium 4 2.4B @ 2700 MHz (FSB150)
512 MB Corsair XMS PC2700CL2(166MHz) DDR @ 187.5MHz 2-3-3-5-1T

Second Rig:
Athlon XP1800 (1529,5MHz) @ XP2100 (1725MHz) FSB150
no volt mod, no multiplier mod.

Both running Seti full time. The P4 avg. at 2h52m and the XP 3h35m.

I really repent buying the P4 when looking at Seti, but it's fun to play games on that thing.

I want to buy a dual setup shortly, but don't know which board yet. I want to go with two XP CPUs, if it's not working I will buy two MPs, too and put the XPs into ECS K7S5A boards.

The bugs will go away when you turn off the computer

If you're still looking to buy some ECSK7S5A boards, some of the Epox boards are running about the same price. I found some 8K7A+ boards at $57, seem a bit more stable than the ECS boards, don't have onboard lan but has the Highpoint Raid controller, award BIOS. You might look around for some of the KT266 chipsets, they should be dropping in price.
