Personally I wouldn't use a 250W PSU for anything more than a K6/II, but I know that there are newer CPU's (even some P4's) that can run off such a supply.

I don't think the CPU is going to be your biggest headache though (they consume a lot less power than they used to). I think you'll have more trouble with the strain from your hard drive or graphics card.
