Since this last server outage I have begun using setidriver while still using seti spy to monitor the app. Under setup --> client there is a tick box for "Ignore presence of state file on startup." I understand what it does as far as eliminating error boxes... but, by checking that box, will Setispy "redo" a workunit if the client is exited then restarted?

There are some TIPS on how to use SETISPY in conjuction with SETI DRIVER right here: http://pages.tca.net/roelof/setispy/faq.htm#2.13 Perhaps it will help...

FAQ 2.13: How do I set up SETI Spy so that it works with SETI Driver?

  • Start SETI Spy, ignoring any errors it reports.
  • Go to the Client page and click the Configure button to bring up the Client
  • Configuration window. Then, set the following:
  • Client Path: Click Browse and select SETI Driver
  • Client Parameters: -SETISpy
  • Enter "SETI Driver" (without the quotes) in the Client Window Title box and check "This is the full title".
  • Uncheck both Keep Alive boxes.
  • Uncheck "Hide Client after Restart".
  • Check "Start Client on SETI Spy start".
  • Check "Restore client minimized".
  • Check or Uncheck "Stop client on SETI Spy exit" - your choice.
  • Click the OK button.
  • Go to the Setup Client page and check "Ignore presence of state file on startup".
  • Exit and restart SETI Spy. This should start SETI Driver configured in such a way as to feed SETI Spy information.
  • Bring up SETI Driver's dialog from the system tray and configure your processing configuration and proxy/socks server information. You must leave the Use SETI Spy option checked. Minimize SETI Driver and then right click on the SETI Driver icon and select "Save Configuration".
  • Take SETI Driver out of your startup group and put SETI Spy in it.

yeah I've been to both developers pages and I do realize that they suggest that the box is checked. The reason is so that seti spy will not stop when seti driver opens a folder that has no WU... i believe. But my question is, what happens when seti spy is restarted (which starts seti driver too) and the status file is ignored? If that WU was already in progess, will seti spy/seti driver start where it left off... or will it start from scratch? Now that I look this over... I think I answered my own question. With seti driver being the actual client... I would assume that ignoring this file will have no adverse impact... right?
