I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem and if anyone knows a workaround.
I have an ATI-TV Wonder PCI, a Creative GF2 GTS and windows XP Pro. The only that is wrong is tv video reception (PAL btw) i get sound, the channel preview function works, perfect screenshots, i can record and watch problem free later on, but the live tv video feed is screwed.
This is a known issue on the ATI website, the latest drivers for everything (including the nVidia ref drivers) make no difference, and while the suggested workaround does work (which includes changing desktop color depth back and forth everytime you watch tv) i have to do it everytime i change channel.
Is there another way? Or am i screwed?

im not using XP, but in windows 2000 there is an option to run program in "compatibility mode", and you may select either Windows95, 98, 98se, etc.
Though I have never found a use for this, if this feature is in XP also, it may be worth a shot running the tv tuner program under one of these modes.
Also is it a problem with the tuner drivers or the tuner software that was provided with the card ? maybe try using powerVCR II , or similiar program to view TV with. |
