My Nvidia 650 finally gave up the ghost. It was locking pretty frequently and showing artifacts on the screen. I slapped in a old back-up card and ordered a replacement on Friday. It came today and I installed it.

The new Nvidia GTX 960 looks like it may just about triple my production according to FAHControl. Shocked

I installed the EVGA control panel for my cards to crank up the fans. They're keeping the cards under 70C now under full load. One was running at about 91C while the other was at about 75C. It helped with video playback in a major way.

My shenanigans in exploring linux mint 17.2 on my beast failed due to creative lab's collective suckage at drivers and community support for anything. My printer is also a PITA to get working... so I put my win7 drive back in and started FAH up again. Looking at just laying win10 on top and letting it ride until I build a newest bestest gooder system with linux happy parts and then just VM my windows needs.

And then the motherboard/HDD/cable screwed up again. dropped sum over $600 for new mobo/cpu/ram/hdd. Done with the BS. Fixed the computer. Folding again with the twin 650 Ti cards and now with 4GHz 8-core action.

The 16GB of ram doesn't hurt none either. The 220 updates before the first reboot is taking forever though. There's probably more after the reboot as well. so I'm restoring my media files from the backup I made about a week ago before all this crap started to really fall apart.

*twiddles thumbs*

seems all my troubles may be due to some crusty relays in my battery backup. switched it on/off about a dozen times and it stopped buzzing. We'll see if that helps, if so, I may be sending cyberpower a WTF-gram.

I wish. They're PCB mounted through hole sealed types.
