Pardon me if this has been discussed already (long time since I have been around, and I did use the search function for which DistRTGen generated no hits)...

Is there a reason LWD hasn't started a DistRTGen Team?

This?

About DistrRTgen

The goal of FreeRainbowTables.com is to give the worlds security experts the best tools available for detecting weak hashes. This can help them to force the developers to use more secure methods of password protection.
By distributing the generation of rainbow chains, we can generate HUGE rainbow tables that are able to crack longer passwords than ever seen before.

You have my interest.... Sell me on why we should be doing this? Being in the field, not sure how I missed this project? But on the flip side I'm not sure how closely this site wants to be to be involved in this sort of effort?

Not looking to persuade anyone, just asked a question.

True this type of endeavor can be both ethical and not pending it's use.

I too work in the career field. Took an interest when I had a few hashes I was tasked to crack.

Just wondering is all.
