Oh - forgot to ask: does it really matter what project we work on as far as team/personal credit is concerned?

Ive only ever worked on seti but was curious about the credits from other projects if the credits earned would still show on the team stats page.

Lately, all of them do when actually running. Looks like the ones that are due in the next 2 weeks are running first, and at high priority.

Of the ones Ive actually seen running lastnight/today, they show high priority, but there was about 6 during the night that I didnt get to see so yeah maby not all are H/P but of the ones Ive seen have been.

Makes me think that the computer things Im running behind or something that its getting worried Razz

Yeah, its the wu's that are getting closer to their due dates that are running first as h/p

Post Posted: Sun Oct 17, 2010 6:31 am   Post subject: Optimized Seti@Home apps Reply with quote Back to top

Some excellent advances and an easy setup "Unified Installer" tool have been released since I made my pitch to fellow LWD S@H team mates last August (http://www.littleblackdog.com/topic48928.html to adopt Lunatics' S@H optimized applications.

The Lunatics' Opti-apps crunch Main Beam Work Units 2x-3x faster than stock S@H code (for me 1 MB WU < 2hrs on each core), their optimized CUDA code crunches MB WU on my single nVidia 6800GT GPU typically <20 minutes; Lunatics also have optimized Astropulse work unit app too. You can see my Tasks & run times here: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?userid=7782289

To install Lunatics' optimized apps I recommend:
1) Set "No New Tasks" on BOINC, complete crunching + upload + report all cached WU results, then shutdown BOINC;
2) Download the Lunatics' "Unified Installer" (currently v 0.37) applicable to your operating system & architecture (32- or 64-bit) from
http://lunatics.kwsn.net/index.php?module=Downloads
Note: If you plan to crunch MB WUs on your GPU, I suggest you update to latest video drivers.
3) Run the Unified Installer;
4) Start BOINC, on Advanced menu > Preferences tab, set a reasonably small cache size (try setting at 1 or 2 days), then on BOINC Projects tab, set "Allow New Tasks" to download some new WUs and watch 'em crunch. Laughing
