yeah it's their own fault.
Maybe not really a fault, but seems like the classics story of the innovators failing to change with the times in time, and getting left in the dust.
It's really a damn shame, as I've always been really fond Palm products.
Their falling out of grace with me was with the pre. I like t-mobile as much as palm. Until the pre, they always released an unlocked GSM phone after their Sprint contract allowed so. When the rumors of an unlocked pre being available "any month now," turned into an at&t phone, I finally turned my back on them.
I REALLY like my HTC HD2. |

Palm will still be around for a long long time...
it'll just be "HP Palm" just like "HP compaq" was for a long long long time (still is I think)
Palm will become known as HP's brand of mobile devices, as compaq became their brand of computers, and HP became their line of printers and computers (how they manage to compete with themselves still in the computer space I just don't understand)
They did do it to them selves by not getting Web os out 2 years earlier... and by having no plans to actually build any phones beyond the pre and pixi... and by giving up their manufacturing capabilities... which is a similar mistake that Motorola made, but hasn't killed them yet...
short sightedness really is what did them in in the end. |

I'm sure they will be, but i have an issue with HP and I'm afraid that in classic HP style, they'll junk up whatever "Palm" products they pump out. |

English doesn't just borrow from other languages, it follows them down dark alleys, smashes them over the head and roots around in their pockets for loose vocabulary.
