As long as you go to work thinking you have to be there, otherwise you'd be getting a call from the boss wondering where you is.

My numbers sucked today, this is what happens when your laptop crashes without you realizing it.

damn laptop crashes again Twisted Evil

DUnno the issue.

THis is the screen I get when crashed (Black screen):

Intel UNDI, PXE-2.1 (build 082)
Copyright (C) 1997-2000 Intel Corporation

For Atheros AR8121/ar8113/AR8114 PCIE Ethernet COntroller v1.0.0.10 (*2008/07/07)

Check cable connection!
PXE-M0F: Exiting Intel PXE ROM.
No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key.

Not sure what is causing that - anyone point me to where I might find an error log? Inorder to reboot, I have to shut down, ctr-alt-del doesnt do anything, brings me to the same screen.

After rebooting and restarting the folding, they start back at zero %

sounds like you may be having issues with the hard drive. If you get the black screen with that text about checking cable connection, that's the initial reboot and it didn't find the hard drive and is trying to boot from the network. The hard drive may be going into thermal shutdown. Then by the time you get to it, it has cooled off and you reboot it and it sees it again.

You probably need a chill pad for your laptop... or a new one with better air flow if you already have one.

Huh - makes sense to me. Cept the laptop is in the basement and its not exactly warm down here lol!

Maybe I will try leaving it upside down for a while - this way the heat have dissipate easier - as a test...until I can figure out a cheap way to keep it cool.

Never had this problem before I changed out the hdd or when it ran vista but yo might be onto something.
