Been looking everywhere fer a decent lighting solution...something that's compact, pivoting, LED (low energy/heat), and bright enough to light things up.
Finally found something at IKEA with the Lack bookcase lighting system. It has a 18' 1" cord with a built-in on/off switch...and comes 2 to the pack. The aluminum arm is about 5" long and has 2 screw holes fer you to secure any way you want (screws not included). It comes with some stick tape in case you don't want to make holes in the item yer looking to mount them in.
I've got these temporarily mounted by putting a hard back book on top of the arms and adjusting them so I git the light where I want it. I can adjust them so I have some ambient light by pointing one or both at the wall/ceiling. I can also use the light as a quick flashlight in the event I drop something on the floor...
The light color is slightly cooler than what some people are used to but it does the job quite nicely. I can finally retire the Sylvania Dot-It lights in the computer hutch! Those batteries sure were a pain to change...
I know you can't order them from the website...so if you don't have an IKEA nearby...I just might be able to git them fer you and ship them provided you pay up front fer the item(s) and shipping. Let me know. |

I carry a set of these with me when I travel as they are compact and the performance is better than most of the lights I come across where I go.
I might have to start stocking these in my tool bag and sell them along the way as I travel... |
