Hello,

I'm looking for suggestions on hard drive diagnostic utilities. We're trying to run some thorough tests. We're going to try out the manufacturers diagnostics, and the diagnostics from Ultimate Boot Disc, and I was wondering if anyone can suggest any additional utilities that they feel may be more effective / thorough.

Chris

Used Spin Rite the other day to recover my wifes HD.

You could use HD Tune to benchmark your drive, but that is about it.

You want to get a hold of a copy of whatever those guys at NASA are using:

clean room + slow rpm spindle + matched heads + controller + platters from busted drive = external exposed hard drive data recovery
