So everyone is very happy with Magic Jack VoIP?
I'm pondering ditching my current VoIP...but $20 for a year seems it would be worth it...
I'll have to see if they do number portability. |

Pretty much...there are still some quirks though...
Number portability? As in using yer current number? Not available at this time. |

I'm 75/25 with it right now myself.
Pros:
Great voice quality most of the time, gets a bit choppy every once in awhile.
Has headset mode, so I can plug it into the HTPC and chat in the living room.
Stores all of your contacts and call logs on the device, so you don't have to carry an list of numbers.
You get an email when you have a voice mail.
It's shiny.
Cons:
No *nix support at all. Have fun trying, I gave up. (No, I'm not installing windows on VMWare!)
Rather picky about using USB extensions.
Can't port numbers...yet.
Computer must be on at all times to make or receive calls.
All in all I'd say it's a good product. I haven't had the problems like some have on the internet and I've been using it for a few months now. Although I have to poke the stick at onefast1 for buying it for me, now I'm forced to keep at least one windows box alive until they finally get around to *nix support. And to think he made fun of me for still using windows... |

What can't be solved with the proper amount of RDX?

I don't think the quality is the greatest in my area. There does seem to be a noticeable lag with my connection. I don't like that fact that I have to be logged into the computer for it to be running. Can't seem to find a way to make it run without being logged in. |
