Is there such thing as an internal USB hub? My motherboard has 2 USB hook ups but my new case has hook ups for 2 USB ports on the front - I'd like to have them all active if possible.

Thanks!

Are you talking about an USN hub that will fit in a 3.5" drive bay or are talking about a hub that goes into the slots on the back of your computer like a video card?

it depends on the motherboard more specifically the chipset on the motherboard. some have a second USB controller that requires an adapter to use them.
What kind of motherboard do you have.

by the way cool homepage.:-D

I am going to put USB ports on the front of my machine, using my second USB controller by using one of those hubs that go in a PCI slot and modding a 5.25 bay cover to hold them. Since I am going to have to solder in an extension on the cable I was wondering if I could combine two ports to one MOBO conector for a total of 4 ports instead of 2.

Any Ideas?

I know shops that sell 4 port USB hubs for a 3.5" drive bay and 5 port hubs for a 5.25" drive bay.

What's with the PC on top? Does it hold the Warp engine so your electical signals travel faster than the speed of light?

Did you remove the pics? I liked 'em. Mods are mods...and if those monkeys who sell that FrontX multimedia device thing can make money at it.... I'm sure theres a need for front USB devices too.

Its all good. Just tryin to get a little rivalry goin Approve SmileKisses Smile[Mad]

The mod looks good though. I was thinking about doing something similar with a network hub in the back of my computer, since it is a quasi server at home.

you might want to take the top off of the hub once it's inside your case

and stop the internal fan that most hubs come with now days

and get one of these to pull the heat off the top:
