|
So I'm running samba on a Ubuntu file server here, and I've got my webserver on yet another server.
I would like to use nfs to mount the webserver stuff onto the file-server so that I can use samba to ubdate the files.
I can physically get this to work, but I'm running into write errors when trying to write to it from samba
(I can ssh in and write to the mount no problem but when I create a text file and try to write to it I get a "Delayed Write Failed" error on windows)
Any ideas?!?! |

are you logging into samba with the same user your able to write to the nfs share with?
I don't use nfs personally i use sshfs, but that does mount from samba and share to windows computers fine, linux usually chokes on using the samba share because it sees the mount point as a mount point, not as just another folder, and then doesn't play as well (linked files do the same thing, play well with windows, not so much with link.) |

Have you tried mounting the nfs share synchronously? (I think async is the default.)
While you're doing that, see if there is anything funky in the samba logs on your fileserver and the nfs logs on the webserver. |
