Could someone offer me some advice.
I currently have a K6-2 500Mhz running on a power supply of 235W. Would this be sufficient to run a Duron 1000 or would i need to buy a new 300W power supply?
Also I was thinking of buying an Elite K7S5A along with 256Mb - considering the increase in price of DDRAM is it worthwhile to spend £21 ie double more on DDRAM instead of PC133?

Thanks for the help

Unless it's a really high quality, I'd definitely bump it up to 300W. And yes, DDR is worth the extra moolah. In the US it's gone up within the past 2 weeks, I don't know how much it's gone up in the UK. If you go 1GHz and up, you'll start to choke your CPU with SDR SDRAM. DDR is worth the extra dough you spend on it.

if you can afford it get get a different motherboard other than the ecs k7s5a. its a power sensitive slut, but if your poor like me it might be your best choice. make sure you get a PSU that can pull i believe 25A on +3.3V rail and 28A on +5.0V rail. If you want more info or have problems once you get it i recommend checking out http://forum.ocworkbench.com/ocwbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=forum&f=27&hardset=30&start_point=25 they have some ecs k7s5a tweaked bios as well (i think a ECS worker is an admin there).
