I'd download the current drivers for that network card and force the update driver thing to use them whether it wants to or not. that should work to refresh/fix any driver issues. if that still doesn't fix the issue... there may be an IRQ conflict and going into the BIOS setup and setting the option to reset configuration data in the PCI settings might fix it.
but that's all the ideas I've got. you've definitely got some protected mode driver issues if not some plain hardware failure issues. |

Can you reproduce the problem of the system croaking when you run IPCONFIG? If so, sounds like a bad driver. If you remove or uninstall the device that started this all, does the problem go away? |
