Welcome to the forums.
Perhaps you did not install all of the necessary drivers after all?
Usually on HP's website they'll post the sound drivers for their systems.
Which sound drivers did you install? |

I have the driver with me downloaded from the HP support website.
But i notice the the mute light indicator on the quick lunch button on the laptop is on. What can i do about that. When i use Hardware detector to get the hardware information i found the sound device but windows was saying "cant found sound device". |

the mute button is controlled by the one-touch buttons... after the sound driver is successfully installed, that should work properly.
don't use add hardware... use device manager. if there is any sound output device listed in device manager with an ! or x on it, then remove it. have it scan for device changes and it "SHOULD" detect and install the sound driver. good luck |

It doesnt show any error on the device manager list.
and it doesnt indicate that there is any driver installation error.
The Mute light indicator is just on at the one touch button.
I'm fedup with the damn thing. |
