That is pathetic. I have been reading thier forum on and off for a while watching things over there the same guys were giving gifts in the form of WU's to other members for X-mas. A few of the legit members of the team quit and defected to other teams shortly after the holidays.
Maybe we could declare our status as patch free? just a suggestion.:-D

I was alerted to this form of cheating Rover just a few moments ago. I have went to the TLC thread and have read every single post. Very upsetting - and even though LWD has had no involvement in this cheating I still feel dirty for some reason.
ROVER: Can I task you with changing our SETI Page (http://www.littlewhitedog.com/seti.asp) so that it clearly states that we are NOT a cheating team. Lets display it loud and clear - No cheaters allowed, no cheaters wanted! WE ARE A PATCH FREE TEAM - ALWAYS HAVE BEEN & ALWAYS WILL BE!
I'm upset - I'll post more on this topic after I calm down... [v]

I can't belive someone would pull such a desperate scheme to process WU. I know I don't contribute much (2) to the team, but they are legitamate. I think that disolving the team is kinda harsh, but I see your point.
I just feel a great sadness on their part .

I'm surprised someone didn't notice this earlier. After only a few months, some individuals had over a 100,000 WU's. SETI@home has removed some of them already, but they will probably open another fake account. Those bastards! Competition is healthy but what they did was completely wrong. I believe most others (myself included) would like to continue helping the LWD SETI project without cheating...even if the real 3.03 client sucks. |

These humans will be dealt with ... SETI@home has to notice something is [censored] up with their results ...

I joined the LWD team on 12/07/00 and feel that I have worked hard to to get to where I am on the team (23rd). I am also disappointed with the performance of the 3.03 client, but would never consider cheating! Right now with 3 machines running SETI I am only completing 4-6 wu/day. The upside is that when 3.03 client becomes mandatory output ratios should level back out across the board for all users, and I guess SETI gleans more information or at least more complete processing of the wu's.
I know that I am rambling and what I am really trying to say is this. We on the LWD team have a healthy, fun competition going on. Lets not let a few bad apples spoil our fun or our team spirit. Cheaters will be found out for what they are and be removed from the SETI database sooner or later. The honest hard working teams will recognized for who and what they are in the end.
Thanks for listening to me And thanks to LWD for letting me participate in our SETI team and on the forums. You folks really are the best!

I hope no one was upset by me sending out that e-mail to the SETI developement team but I felt deeply compelled to take action immediately. I will be making the changes to the SETI page to specify no cheaters. EVERYONE please let me know if you still wish to continue the LWD SETI Team in this thread because I was seriously considering disolving the team. I'm really interested to hear what SETI has to say to my e-mail. And I will go public with it so don't worry.

After sleeping on it - I decided that I am going to continue cranking the WU's out. The folks that run the show over at S@H seem to be quite the "Dedicated Type" - I'm sure they will resolve the issue and release and immediate emergency patch in the next week or so. They did that with 3.03 (rushed it out) because of the bandwidth problems.
I have put SOOOO much time and effort into this team - I'm not going to give up on it just because of a couple of wankers. It will work itself out. Just be glad those assholes didn't do that to our team ...

I want the LWD team to continue. No way am I allowing a bunch of cheatin cats to ruin the fun of Seti@home for me or my fellow dogs.
You cheat while you are a member of the LWD team, you get spayed or neutered.
