What are the pros and cons of using the standard Molex power connectors vs the newer SATA power connectors on hard drives? |

New sata connectors allow for hot swapping... or so I understand...
though most SATA drives, and cards/motherboards, don't support that ... |

I could have sworn that win xp sees the sata drives as a usb connection....... I will have to check it out when I get home from work. |

If you have a drive with both types of power connector, it shouldn't matter which one that you use. The 4-pin Molex connector is more secure, while the SATA power connector is more compact. |

On my pc windows xp sees my sata drives as a usb device. so in theroy you could hot swap them. Not that i'm going to try it. |
