Readers of my Little White Box series may recall my abortive attempts to get my Mac Mini to see the data on my external hard disk, which had been formatted with NTFS. OSX's much-vaunted ability to read NTFS partitions proved to be miserably useless.

As it happens, a bright spark at Google has written a Mac port of FUSE, a plugin-based filesystem driver. Installing MacFUSE and the NTFS plugin allowed my Mac Mini to see the contents of the external hard disk.

MacFUSE - http://code.google.com/p/macfuse/
NTFS-3G plugin - http://shadowofged.blogspot.com/2007/03/ntfs-3g-for-mac-os-x.html

If you want to go the other way around, MacDisk will allow reading/writing HFS+ in windows. Good for if your using bootcamp or something.
