Anyone own a 360 in here ?
I thought about it and i'm almost 100% sure i will not be able to get my hands on a PS3 on launch day, so i thought about getting a X360 instead and grab the Wii at the same time. I mean, there's Dead Rising, Splinter Cell, Gears of War and a few more games that are really worth it for the X360. I just wanna know what people think of the console in general. |

Well, if you're looking for opinions....
I think the Xbox 360 costs too much money and is over-hyped. The multimedia capabilities are lost unless you have a Windows Media Center pc to serve it all up. While I haven't played or seen a Wii, it sounds like a much cooler gaming experience and would be money better spent.
Suck it, Redmond... |

Thought we had this discussion before?
I like my 360. Granted I don't play it enough anymore because of a serious lack of downtime, but meh. I don't like some of the limitations of the media functions, such as no VCD support and limits on how many songs can be on a playlist. As far as the gameplay goes I think it's excellent, never really had a problem in that department. I've managed to lag it out a few times playing Oblivion, but that was due to doing things that are way outside of the limits for the game anyway. (Can we say filling a room with Weylkand Stones using the arrow dupe glitch? )
I don't think you'll be disapointed if you get one, make sure you pick up Perfect Dark and Oblivion if you do. |

I don't care about multimedia capabilities.. i wanna know how the gaming is on the console, nothing more. This thread is not for console vs. console debate, i simply wanna know if the gaming on it kicks ass or not. |

I have a 360. I'm having a blast playing Burnout Revenge. Think Need For Speed mixed with Twisted Metal and given a healthy dose of meth.
I have the optical output hooked to my stereo for the full 5.1 sound. I don't have an HD tv though. That may be next on my toy list.
The wireless controllers are nice. If you get it, I recommend getting the separate charger and battery pack. The wireless controller lasted me about a month with the included batteries. That was with full rumbling.
I've also been playing some Halo, PGR3 and Lego Star Wars II. I've downloaded a few demos from live. The servers seem pretty fast.
I say go ahead and get it. Just be prepared to not sleep for a while. |

I'm sure the games are cool... whether they $500 worth of cool (or not) is debatable. |

I don't know where you paid $500 for a 360, but someone ripped you for $100.
I gotta agree with Blah on Burnout. It's one hell of a game. I lost my wireless controller to it a few months ago... |

I like the 360 a lot. You MUST get the hard drive if you want to play the old XBox games on it - but I find myself still using the XBox for the old games anyway.
You can download demos with the 360 which is pretty cool - need the hard drive to do this. There is also an embedded Media Center Extender, so if you have a Media Center PC in a different room, you can access the Media Center video, audio and TV without interfering with the Media Center PC.
One of my favorite games, Mercenaries, will not play on the 360. My other two favorite games will play - KOTOR and KOTOR II - but the video portions of the game are choppy. There is a noticeable difference in smoother play when I play Battlefront II on the 360.
Game choices are slow to appear. I now have Project Gotham Racing and Moto GP, both designed for the 360 and they are very nice games.
Overall I am happy with my purchase, but I could have waited to buy it until more games come out. If you can afford it, you wont be disappointed. |

The choppy video is due to the emulation process. I guess that is the #1 dislike with the 360, they didn't make it backward compatable like Sony did with the PS2. Oh well. |

Thanks for the input, guys.
- I already got Burnout Revenge on the PS2. Is it worth the "upgrade" ?
- I got Oblivion for the PC too.
The console, alone with the wireless controller and the headset is 500$CAN over here(442$US). The same console, with Project Gotham Racing 3 + Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfare thrown in the package is the same price, so if i buy, i'm buying that.
One other thing; the descriptions says that the consoles got Component cable in the box. Is it true ?
Like i said, if i buy this console, it's for 3 main reasons:
a) Dead Rising
b) Gears of War
c) ... and eventually buy the HD-DVD add-on so i can have a HD-DVD and BluRay drives in da' house.
Another question: Is there some kind of cheating devices for the X360 ? Like a Gameshark or Action Replay ? Can't find any... |

Do you mean component video - the three video connectors? Yes it does. Composite video is the single yellow RCA cable. |

Oops, yeah, that's what i meant. Component. The green/red/blue cable for better image quality.
Edit: Forgot... do you absolutely need the DVD remote to be able to play DVDs ?! Tell me i just can use the controller... |

You can just use the controller.
Also, buy Geometry Wars from XBox Live Arcade. |

If you buy the premium version, you get the composite/component (sd/hd) cable. You also get the wireless controller and the hard drive.
The core only has the sd cable and a wired controller. You can buy the wireless controller, hard drive and sd/hd cable separately but it will cost more than the ~$100 that you save by buying the core version. |

How many games do you get with the $400 console? |
