This is really bugging me. I've been trying to reduce the colors of my start-up pic to 16 colors in Photoshop 6, and I've been able to do so, but it won't let me save it as a 4-bit BMP!!
When I go to save it as a bitmap, (it's a picture of a car by the way) Photoshop gives the option of saving it as 1 bit, 4 bit, 8 bit, or 24 bit, but everything is grayed out except the 8 bit option!
I went to image--> mode --> indexed color, and changed it to 16 colors. What am I missing?? |

Use Irfanview instead... I have come to see, like most of the LWD crew, that Photoshop blows chunks for 16 color... As does M$ Paint, plus, Irfanview just got an update![ ]
Go to Image\Decrease color depth\16 color... Doesn't that look nice? Ya gotta post the logo!

Excellent! Thanks a lot. I'll post it up as soon as it's finished. Look for the Windows 2000 SVT Cobra Edition |
