I've got a wierd problem that i've never seen before. A site i go to play cards at is not accessible since last thursday. I can see any other website but this 1. Talkin to friends in IM the site is up, but i can't get to it. Keep gettin the "page cannot be diplayed". check other puters in the house, all the same. Walk next door (same cable isp..adelphia.net) same thing. Check isp website and do the online help. Go thru the same stuff i did before, clean, reboot, check this and that tellin me that the site must be down. Ask them if they can get to it, they say no, must be down,(sigh how may times i gotta tell em its workin) I can get on the site at work (diff isp) but cant play because of being at work. I tell them that the site is up, in contact with ppl playin there. Ask tier 2 tech if he can get there, he ses no site must be down, tell him no it's up. Now at tier 3 do the tracert thing and they say it's droped out of thier network....nothing they can do. Last ip on tracert is 17 79 ms 85 ms 98 ms tge4-1.fr1.lax.llnw.net [69.28.171.77] after a little searchin find limelight network. Contact them and after a few e-mails back n forth, they tell me its not them, to contact valve corparation, whom i cant seem to find as a internet company. so now i'm stuck. If any of you could help thank you

Some whole regions are not accessible to other whole ISPs.
(and, if you win too much, they may lock you out)
You could try a web-based proxy. |

I am assuming by playing cards you are talking about playing poker.
The US gov't with the aide of the US and American Indian lobby created a law that prevents US citizens from playing poker and other gambling games at off shore sites. And to assist this they had the sites blocked from the US as well as making it a federal offense to deposit money on an offshore gambling site using a credit card. GL there are ways around the rules. Paypal and other noncredit card middlemen are already there to assist in your gambling needs |

Or my personal favorite when I was doing tech support, verizon users on one subnet can't access an FTP server on a different subnet, but me on a different ISP can access both via ftp, and can equally be accessed by both... (spent a while on the phone with verizon trying to get them to believe that was happening.) |

Same thing happened to me. Page can not load.
You know what's funny though? The URL you posted: www.hoylegames.sierra.com
Doesn't really work. Take OFF the www. part so the real URL is:
http://hoylegames.sierra.com
I'm looking at the site right now. Maybe you try that |

can you try a traceroute (in windows it's tracert) from your house to the hoyle site. You appear to be on Adelphia and routed through Frederick, Maryland. It's possible something at Adelphia isn't right. At least it wouldn't surprise me.
[edit]
ok I did some more picking around. It looks like Adelphia, not surprisingly, heads off to Time-Warner cable's NOC in DC, and thence to New York, at least as I trace you. Time-Warner hooks up with Level3 in New York, which by my routing takes me to Hoyle in Los Angeles.
I'd be interested to see if you make it out of Time-Warner land.

I've had a couple of the vids linked here I can't get to
and the second options posted play fine
my friend can't see the 2nd links at all
but the origs work fine
weird being on diff networks
my guess would be delayed updates of the dns table in the various links of the dns chains (thingys) (( ya know )) |

Sierra's website is hosted in Intermix Media's ipblock. Intermix is part of Fox, I dunno if that matters.
can you get to http://www.intermix.com/intermix_about.cfm ? |
