Would you at least consider Teamspeak instead of Ventrilo?

I'm OK with the site-ads and stuff. Nothing worse than LWD, I suppose. I can stand that, but I'd rather have a donation. Your call, though. And I guess nothing stops me from donating anyway. Smile

/Akely

The only reason I'm considering one or two ads is because of a conversation I had with edison yesterday. We both had pretty much the same feeling about the site in that it is/will be an extension to the social side of LWD, much as LBD has become. I don't need the money to pay for the domain name, nor for the hosting. But LWD sure could use it.

If everyone wants to use teamspeak then that's what we'll use. I've always used vent but I'm willing to try something new.

yes or you could download steam and purchase it directly from steam. Steam creates an account for you and will keep track of all your purchases and downloads. This is nice incase you fry a HDD, loose a disk, or have something even more bizzare happen

Yup. that's it.

Could all of the overseas dogs please ping www.itsyour.com (I said ping, not DDoS) and let me know what you get along with the type of connection you're using? I'm working with a ping hovering around 300ms, which doesn't make me happy. I know the actual ping will vary once we're playing, but I'm curious to see what everyone else is getting. If you guys have the same ping with similar or faster connections I'm not even going to upgrade to a fatter pipe. (1024/256 atm, could get 2048/512 but it's like 20 euros more plus the upgrade fee)

By ads on the site, do you mean having the server send chat messages while you are playing? Or regular ads on a website?

I haven't played CS:S much since I got farcry (farcry is so good if you like single player) but I would stop by to give you guys something to shoot at =)

On a side note, every time I would add a server to 'favorites' it would disappear the next time I played. Is that just because of the servers changing IP addresses or something?

Side rant: I hate the steam server browser thing. quakespy is what, 9 years old? And it has so many better features. I would love to be able to filter out servers with no one playing except bots, or add servers to a never-ping list. Oh well, I suppose that's to be expected when a project isn't community driven. </bitter>
