One thing I really don't understand is buying in-game money for money in real life...

I mean the whole point of the game is to play through it an earn good items / lots of money... If you don't enjoy doing that, then why would you pay for the game in the first place ? Seems to me that once I've unlocked everything in a game and have all of the most uber items, really no point in playing it after that. Confused

You'd be surprised how many people would cheat in order to get ahead in a game like that.

In the MMORPG I play, one of the games was terminated altogether due to rampant cheating.

By any means whatsoever to win or be one of the top dogs no matter how small or virtual a pond gives some people a feeling of self worth they cannot achieve in real life.

Just pity them.
