hello,
I looked at the russian ver. may be great but umm.... think I will look for a service less than 12,000 miles away.. not that we cannot virtual around town but thats just me..
am using 45 day trial of this ViPnet "ViPNet SAFE DISK"
http://www.infotecs.biz/
they have free trials of many uses.
I dont know the cost.. which may lead to me not using.
was listening to a security show a guy named leo he is in podcast directory, anyway he is using VPN that cost 8.00 per month.. all anyone can see is noise.
sounds like if in a hotel, motel, coffee shop, or any hot spots you may as well hand over your pc and save your time let alone if your on a ethernet.

Want a free VPN? Consider Hamachi, or even getting to grips with SSH. |

I'd personally be cautious about Russian commercial offerings. Some of them are actually really good, and Russians are very smart, but, the back door thing can't be ignored. Unless you know them, be careful with them.
Infotecs is German, by the way

and I haven't heard of them. You are looking for a secure traveling setup? Why not just VPN back to home? I seriously trust no one, and even a VPN setup on an Internet cafe's computer could be compromised if you're being paranoid.
I dunno. I just VPN via whatever ISP I am on back home, then bounce out from there for secure stuff. No third parties. I like that.
Of course, you need a server at home and a firewall that knows enough to let you in. But that's not hard to come by. |
