I'm new to the whole pocket pc thing, but got a good deal on an iPaq 4155. Just gonna use it for movies and GPS. Anyway, I orded a 2GB SD card from NewEgg. Placed it in the card reader...1.9 GB available. Cool. I start loading about 4 movies worth about 1.2 GB. After about 1GB I receive an error sector not found. Great. I can load almost 1 GB of data on this thing and then it stops.

The 3 movies I loaded play fine. I went ahead and deleted it and formatted the thing with the XP formatter. I first do a diskcheck, but it looked fine. After the format I notice that only 1 GB shows free on the details of the disk with the remaining 1GB full. In other words, the formatter will only format 1GB. I try the same thing with just FAT. Same results.

No matter what I try I am only left with just under 1GB of available drive space. I then think that I maybe have a bad card with bad sectors, so I order a new PNY card and figure I'll just send the bad one back.

2 Days later I receive the new card. SAME EXACT THING HAPPENS. ??????

Any thoughts on this? Any 3rd party disk formatter you guys recommend?

Oh yeah, I tried the same thing on another laptop with a built in SD reader with same results.

Thanks.

I've never tried it with SD cards, but it's worked for me on multiple USB sticks; give it a try.

Thanks for the replies. I just tried that utility. Strangest thing...it's like 1 full GB has disappeared. It sees 981mb and will format that. I just can't imagine why that would happen on 2 cards in a row.

One is PNY and the other is A-Data. Anglachel, I am gonna use that format utility with another reader now. You may be correct.
