PNY nVidia 6800GT vs. PNY nVidia 6800GS

So I'm comparing the following two cards:
PNY nVidia 6800GS - $229.00
PNY nVidia 6800GT - $269.00

The GS has a higher core clock and higher memory clock. Both cards are PCI-Express x16, both cards have 256MB of GDDR3 RAM.

However, although the GS appears significantly better in most respects, it's $40 cheaper. Seems like a great deal... But I want to know why. Why am I paying less for more ? Confused Confused Confused Confused

JAE: Memory bandwidth on the two cards is the same.

squito: Nice link, according to that article the performance between the GT and the GS is really pretty equivalent... I think the difference is negligible to the point where saving $40 on it is worth it.

the GS is a std vga with DVI output
the GT is dual DVI output

Lake: no thanks, that's $20 more than I paid for the GS... And my parents almost didn't let me get it... Shocking Smile Thanks for the offer though. Smile

Dave Rave: The only use I see for dual DVI outputs is if I was planning on running dual LCD monitors... Really not planning on doing that, and I probobly won't even get once LCD (I'm currently running a 17" CRT monitor Shocking Smile ).
