Anandtech has a review of the new Alderwood and Granstdale motherboards up today. You get lots of new features, a new socket, new memory, new graphics slot, new I/O slots, new power connector, new form factor, new case, new power supply, new cooling solution, and a whopping huge new price. What you don't get with the new Intel solution is any performance boost. A Northwood-C core running on i875 is still faster than the newest Intel technology. Athlon64 is even faster. |

I have an Asus P4P800 mobo with a 3ghz Prescott. Asus makes an awesome board, great for o'clocking either with Ai or manually. The cpu runs at 3.2ghz with no lockups with stock Intel cooling. It just won't go to 3.4 so I'm going to make my own liquid cooling system for cpu, ram, video. I also have 512MB (2x256) of Kingston HyperX dual channel PC3200 memory for o'clockability, and future upgrades. What ever you decide don't regret it, and don't let anybody tell you it was foolish or wrong 'cause they're either jealous or idiots. I only bought the Prescott 'cause it was a good deal on Ebay. The Prescotts will make themselves worthy when tha speeds increase to 3.5ghz and beyond. |

How is your HyperX performing, at the moment i have the single 512 Kingston DDR3200 dual chanel but i was thinking of upgrading to 1GHz with the HyperX. |
