Apparently he gave it to his friend.

Now, I'm generally one to boost any PC system above any Mac, but this kid took a top-of-the-line Mac and put in a MicroATX WITH AN XP 2200+ AND CALLED IT AN IMPROVEMENT?!

Well, that's one way to waste $5000 of your parents' cash. Jesus Christ, man, way to be an ungrateful lil' SOB.

Like I said in the chat, this is like taking a Dodge viper, and tossing a pinto engine in it cause you like ford. (feel free to adjust the anology to any good car, and crap car and the appropiate manufacturers)

I'd at least put in something more equivalent like an Opteron at least, or 2 Athlon MPs. That boy ain't right...

God I'd of gotten VitualPC if you MUST run Window$ on a MAC That costs about $100.00 and won't ruin a $5,000 puter.......... Rolling Eyes

just to keep things honest, he didn't specifiy what dual configuration he had, probably the cheaper of the two, which is only $2499. the top 'o the line dual 2GHz is still only $2999, a far cry from $5000.

don't mean to flame, but quotes like that just perpetuate the stereotype that macs are sooooooo expensive. just to compare, i just priced dells lowest price dual processor workstation at $2410 comparably equipped. not so much cheaper for something not nearly as nice Wink

but i do agree with you, the guy is a freakin jerk to throw away such a nice gift. i agree with superdwarf. run VPC and call it a day. if you want to play games, get a KVM or something to use your crap ass athlon. what a chump.
