|
Recently had power surge from lightening and it knocked down my Athlon xp 1800+ to now only running 1150 where should I go in windows to check to see what I can do and if I can fix it? It fried my modem also. But the OS is fine, just the the prosessor speed now. Give me some clues |

If you have hardware to swap around (i.e. mobo, cpu, ram) I'd give that a try. It could be a miriad of things. The best way is to swap them in/out and see where the problem is.

Check your bios to see if the power fluctuations reset the settings to default. |
