  1. No legally registered vendors or business may use the For Sale Forum. Included in this definition are those who engage in occasional "bulk buys" or "opportunity buys" at wholesale prices and then attempt to resell these items for profit in the For Sale forum. Posts of these type belong in the Hot Deals Forum.
  2. You may not post links to ebay or other auctions, yours or otherwise, in the For Sale Forum unless these items were originally posted as For Sale in the For Sale Forum, and have since been sent to auction.
  3. Items offered for sale or sale/trade must have posted prices. This is not an auction house where highest bid wins. Items offered for trade only do not require prices. Obscure, rare and difficult to price items are exempt from this.
  4. Caveat Emptor. The buyer and only the buyer are responsible for determining just how good a deal is. The community of LWD/LBD is not responsible for a buyer or seller who gets ripped off.
  5. No Thread Crapping. If an item is listed at a higher than normal price, it is acceptable to provide proof that the asking price is indeed too high. This should only be done by one person, once in the thread. Excessive comments on the asking price of an item will not be tolerated. Additional information not originally listed by the seller, both positive and negative, is permissible, however, comments on the quality of an item will not be tolerated.
  6. No Black Market or Bootlegged software sales (or "warez" for that matter). NFR (Not for resale) software is not allowed to be sold. Due to uncertainty of the legality of selling OEM software, at this time we cannot allow the sale of any OEM software.
  7. Any violations of these rules will result in the thread being locked or deleted. Multiple violations may result in temporary or permanent bans.
  8. All policing of these rules will be at the discretion of the moderators. Exceptions to these rules can be made by a moderator.
  9. These rules are in addition to the "general forum" rules which can be found here. You are expected to comply with those rules first, and suppliment them with the rules specific to the For Sale / Trade section.

Please note the addition of rule #9 as of 10/1/2003:

These rules are in addition to the "general forum" rules which can be found here. You are expected to comply with those rules first, and suppliment them with the rules specific to the For Sale / Trade section.

For the Avoidance of All Doubt:

SPAM (Unsolicited Commercial Postings) is defined as a posting by any member who posts for any commercial enterprise, legal or otherwise.

Interpretation of what is SPAM is up to the moderator or admin. The poster is hereby warned of the consequences of spamming, typically a ban and trace of the spam, possibly including a report to a relevant spam cop.

You may appeal via PM. Be prepared to explain your actions. We have good reasons to call something SPAM, when we do.

Remember, if you have an interest or stake in the enterprise you are posting for, it is SPAM. We may make an exception if you clear it, but those are exceptional circumstances, and you must clear it. Those are rare, so don't try it unless you have a good cause.
