maybe this should go in the general software section, being about excel and all, but i took a look at excel's macro maker and it seemed to open up a VB editor. so anywho.

can i get pointed in a general direction on making excel macros? the help file is rather worthless. maybe someone knows a good site with some basic ones i can look through? i know C/C++ and have some experience with java, so this can't be all that hard, yeh?

i have to make up these stupid little spreadsheet reports almost nightly that involve taking existing spreadsheets and editting them, moving columns around, making it all look nice, etc. it's getting old.

once i get that project under my belt i want to whip up something that can take a tab delimited text file, check values in it against other similar files, and then compile and spit out a simple html file. or at least compile the data so i can make it into an html file by hand. but that is all later.

i'll also be using this thread to harass you all with exact questions at a later date. thanks for your time.
