|
So my workstation decides to shutdown for no reason while I am burning a DVD of a bucks night I attended.
Upon further investigation I found out why.
Seems I have a dicky cpu fan and being the day before the Easter break it take until at least next Tuesday to get another fan sent to me. Thats in excess of 50 WUs for SETI I'll be missing out on.

Well you could rig up an extra case fan to blow on the cpu. Or visit Radio Shack. Leave the side open and use a window fan or desk fan. |

Under clock the CPU maybe? It'll take you a little longer to do stuff, but at least you can keep things moving without having to wait for a new fan. |

Unfortunately its an el cheapo bushed fan... no bearings, but never fear, after digging through my spare parts bin i have dug up an old volcano7 that is still servicable so at worst I'll lose a days production from that machine (12 units)
