Help! I'm looking for a cheap PCMCIA Ethernet card. I broke the dongle [Butthead Voice]HEH-HEH He said dongle![/Butthead Voice] of my wife's laptop. I'm going to see if I can aquire one from the company (Xircom). But if I can't I would like to know of a cheap place to buy one. Thanks. |

Xircom got absorbed/bought out by Intel and had all of their stuff rebranded. You can shop Intel fer yer dead dongle if you really want another one. Going price is about $19 not including shipping/handling/taxes.
PC Liquidators has this dongle for Xircom Model REM56G-10 or Model REM56G-100 Ethernet cards. Not sure if you have that model or not but not bad fer the price. It will only work on the models listed.
NewEgg has one fer only $20 shipped. It's a Gigafast 10/100 Mbps PCMCIA PC Card, Model# EtherEngine 102-AEX (EE102-AEX) -RETAIL unit. Not bad fer $20 but it still has a dongle.
They also have another card going fer about $29 shipped.
Package2you has the Netgear PCMCIA Kit FA410C - 10/100 PCMCIA cards fer $15.90 plus shipping. Shipping tends to be a bit pricey so you might want to reconsider shopping here.
Computer Geeks has a Xircom RealPort CardBus Ethernet 10/100 PC Card going fer $17.90. It takes up both card slots but it doesn't have a dongle fer you to lose or break. I bought one that was similar and it never connected at 100MBps. It was just "compatible" on a 10/100 network. So I ended up returning it. Do yer homework before chosing this one. |

I have a Xircom I'd sell too, but I'll charge more than Fido, and probably won't include any bottlecaps.
its a Realport (no dongles!) 10/100 with a 56k modem too...I got not box. |
