Well I am going to order Broadband this week. If you live in an area like I do, Earthlink resells RoadRunner service cheaper than what Time Warner is charging.
Road Runner $44.95
The price of the Road Runner Online Service varies from market to market. On average, the service runs $44.95 per month. This fee is in addition to the regular monthly cable subscription. The monthly fee includes UNLIMITED, connection-less access to the online service and the Internet (without hourly fees).
What do they mean by UNLIMITED, connection less access. To me this sounds like unlimited amount of Bandwidth every month.
Sign up for Road Runner today and receive
free installation and your first 3 months for 1/2 price.
Can have up to 5 dynamic IP's if I am not mistaken. And I think they offer dial up service when you are away from home. Not sure if that is unlimited. 5 email boxes
Earthlink
Now Just $41.95 per month and free standard installation!
FIRST 3 MONTHS at $21.95 per month *
8 email boxes, not that I need that many
Unlimited dial-up access
Does Earthlink allow you to have more than one Dynamic Ip?
Anyone know what the Bandwidth limits are for these services? |

pretty sure RR means unlimited as in there are no hourly limits. i remember getting letters from TWC about using too much bandwith when we had five people all going off the same connection. there was mention of charging for this excess bandwith use at that time (at reading this one of meh housemates set his comp to constantly download, delete, and redownload the Win2k sp3 full install to stick it to both TW and MS), but now i can't find any information on it.
if Earthlink is reselling the RR service, it's all the same damn thing. if you take AOL or Earthlink they'll give you a username and password to log you into those company's portals. personally, it didn't matter to me and i went with RR. it's not like i needed an email address with any of them or i wanted to get into AOL chat rooms.
i never read anything about TWC offering a dial up option.
if earthlink is cheaper, why not go with them. if you don't like the service, cancel it and get RR.
i still can't find info on bandwith limitations, i had a thread going on it for awhile over here: http://www.littleblackdog.com/viewtopic.php?t=12280 |
