Hi all...feel the pain of watching a 73 point WU and a 23 point WU currupt before your eyes. Both packets were 90% done and both were on the same machine. The machine locked up and I had to reboot. I restarted the folding exe and the message said something like core currupted and it downloaded a new core and then downloaded a new packet...so much for the race to 5K. I still have big packets crunching, but not enough to hold Jamz off Crying or Very sad

Welcome to the club. I have as many finished WU that I have never received credit for as I have credited. WTF is up with that?

What is the proper way of closing down the client? I'm using the command line client and I usually do CTRL+C to close the window and that usually shuts down the FAH_Corexx.exe process that it spawns. It's been working fine so far, haven't seen any problems like the core or WU corrupting.

But I'm a little concerned because I wrote my own little program to monitor and baby sit the CLI client. When I exit my program, it should kill the FAH client process, but sometimes the FAH_CoreXX.exe remains and I see it running in Task Manager. I don't know how to programmatically detect when a process is spawned from a process that I spawned (I feel like a grandpa).

So after all this gibberish, what's the deal? Is is safe to just end the process whenever we need to?

Sorry to hear about your loss sspiess... They will be missed.

Lycander, Not a clue, sorry... I run win2k, and I have the "end Process tree" option in task manager, is there a way to kick into that?
