If I were to head down to the local hardware store and buy a can of spray paint to paint my case with - which kind of paint would work / stick the best to the metal / plastic surfaces?

It just so happens that I did some painting this weekend and i know for sure that laquer will stick real good on the metal parts if they are prepped right.
I sanded then primed then wet sanded then sealed then cleaned it with prep-sol and sprayed.
laquer is very forgiving to amateurs like me. you can always wet sand any imperfections and respray.
