Ok i'm running a VP6 modo - with dual PIII 1G each - the problem that i have is that i think XP is only recognising one of them - when i go into task manager i only see one grid for one cpu and i remember there used to be two - And all my games diagnostics programs can't see it either -

However in the system properties there are two cpus?

i'mi afraid that XP sees two but only uses one??

Do you have XP professional or the home version? The home edition doesn't support dual processors. I don't know why your system properties shows 2 though. When you installed XP did you have 1 or 2 processors installed?

NOTE: I'm quoting from Win2K experience here.

Go to the Task Manager and select the Processes tab. Select any process and see if there is an option to 'Set Affinity' - if so, the OS at least, realises that there are two processors.

I thing I remembered last night (while troubleshooting my own issues) If you run Wcpuid http://hp.vector.co.jp/authors/VA002374/src/download.html There is a drop down box that lets you look at the performance of each processor. That will tell you for sure if it is detecting 2 processors or not. Robbo's idea will wokr also and is a lot easier but my way you get to download a nice program too. Big Smile
