Went through both configs to ensure identical setups ...

Win98 - Quake3@110 fps

Mandrake 7.2 - Quake3@113 fps

Where's the performance hit under Linux ... Evil Smile Wink Smile [Very Happy]

YOu're damd right man!! Linux Rocks!! i heard the 7.4beta kernel is out now. WHen they officially release it thats one to look out for! Big Smile Big Smile apparently USB Support is going to be second to none [Very Happy]

I have no idea what to do with an "iso" file ...
I think you need a CD burner ...

The thing that really held me back was the download speed. On all the mirrors that Mandrake supplied, the fastest d/l speed I got was 4.2KB/s. I have a hard time waiting 6180 hours for a download, especially when I already have Mandrake 7.2 at home.

u don't need a burner..u just need winimage to extract it to hard drive...but then again..i don't know how the linux install goes, so you may need a cd anyway.

I installed Linux from files saved on the Win98 drive ...
The "iso" file should contain the boot image I need to do this ... Evil Smile Wink Smile [Very Happy]
