I've got an old ISA 10base-T network card here. I know from experience that they are kinda hard to find these days, but someone might have a need... let me know

open to all offers

fathertyme is soooo long to type out, and ft just doesn't cut it.
Now cheesy, that seems to just roll off the fingertips.

if you could tell me what that is....

i have an old network card. says 10 on it.

no idea what ISA 10base-T means.

please detail.

10 Base-T means it uses coaxial cable with terminators rather than cat5 cable. You dont need a hub with 10Base-T and you only get a maximum throughput of 10Mbits/sec. Basically it's OLD. Not to many PCs these days have an ISA slot in them. 386s, 486s and some older pentiums had 1 or more ISA slots but just about all relatively new MoBo are PCI.

ACtually, mine is a co-ax-or-cat 5 but runs only at 10MB/s (will not hit 100 if it was blessed by god!)

ISA... worked well until I replaced it with a 100 (I had an extra pci slot, and $10)

yep . . that pretty much goes double for me

which card did you get for your $10

one based on netgear or Realtek 8139 ?

that reminds me . . . I also have an old PCI card that's 10mb with both coax and rj45 on it too if anyone needs it (realtek 8129 for those in the know)

I'm not trying to be nit-pickey, but I don't want daCheezer thinking in the wrong direction. 10base2 uses Coax cabling and must be terminated at each end (50 ohm terminators). 10BaseT uses Category 5 cabling with RJ-45 connectors. I also believe it can use Cat3 cabling as well. Some old cards support both types. They have an RJ-45 port and a BNC connector. (Coax)

I know you are right, and was pretty sure that the previous answer was off by just a hair, but I know that I'm not expert enough to get into a pissing match about it *L*, plus I didn't know the 10base2 nomenclature.

My mistake.... youre right.... all the cards I have in our work machines had dual connectors. 10baseT and 100baseT both utilize RJ-45 connectors
