Still, those things are nice. At least they better be at the prices they command. 3 grand for one peice of hardware? Sheesh, $300's on the expensive side for me...

You do know this is a high-end graphics card for stuff like CAD or CGI type stuff that needs as much realestate as possible?

416 MiB isn't that much. A 1kx1k bmp in 32 bits takes up already 4MiB. So if you have a 3d enviroment with 400 1kČ you will use everything up. trust me that doesn't look real

High-end graphic card like that are used for video/graphic rendering. We use them to render high intense frame-based dvd graphics from 3d Studio Max files. Using a standard desktop video card it takes hours to render each frame. Just imagine how long it would take to render 1,500 frames. These high-end cards bring the time down to around 9 hours for all 1,500 frames. We just happen to be rendering one over this weekend. Ill share the specs and time with you on monday
