Note that the Planar PX2710MW uses a TN LCD panel.
If you care about color accuracy or viewing angle, you're likely going to want an IPS LCD or PVA LCD panel. |

4½ years later, large 1080p screens are now a niche product for older folks with poor eyesight. 2560x1440 has been the sweet spot for the past few years, but 4K has finally become affordable enough to supplant it.
$300 or $350 Monoprice 27" 2560x1440 IPS 60Hz monitor
$350 or $400 Monoprice 28" 3840x2160 TN 60Hz monitor
P.S.: Those 4K pre-orders look like TN panels, not IPS. |

Prices are still pretty high at the top of the line monitors. Most of the new ROG monitors are over $1000. |
