Stopped by the local Microsoft Store yesterday to see what they had and, came home with a Dell Venue Pro. I've been a Verizon customer since what seems like the dawn of time but, none of the phones and plans they are offering at this time had any real appeal to me whereas I was liking what I was seeing/hearing about the new WP7 offerings and, since Verizon still does not have any WP7 phones in their lineup that meant that I needed to look at the other carriers to see who could fit my needs. T-Mobile has some nice choices and decent calling plans and I was leaning towards the HTC HD7 but, once I had the chance to compare the HTC and the Dell side by side I found that I really liked the feel of the Dell better (both are solid, quality phones but, the Dell just had the edge over the HTC for me). The slider keyboard is also a nice plus (along with the fact that I don't NEED to use it if I prefer the virtual keyboards instead).

So, did some playing around last night, setting up email accounts and customizing the tiles to fit my needs. Explored the Marketplace for a bit and was impressed with the range and number of offerings (including plenty of free apps that can do what I need without my having to pay for anything). Connected to Zune and installed the software updates to the phone so I'm all set and ready to go with this nifty critter. Thus far I'm very impressed with this O/S and I'm looking forward to getting to know it's capabilities even better with time.

Cool

...oh, and in other news, zsadie got a new phone yesterday too, she liked the android phones so, she went with the Samsung Fascinate from Verizon and, I'll leave it up to her to decide whether to share her thoughts on that decision. Razz

I'd be interested to read a comparison between the two, actually.

hrmmm, guess I'll hafta see if I can come up with something for ya then. Gimme some time to get settled with the phones so I can try to make this as valid as possible. So, I should be able to get something of a comparo worked up within the next week or so.
