Oysters Wrapped in Bacon
12 strips of bacon
12 raw Mississippi oysters in their own juice
3 tablespoons brown sugar
Sprinkle brown sugar on the strips of bacon. Wrap one strip of bacon
around each oyster. Place in preheated oven at 350°F and bake for
35 minutes.

I'm gonna mod this recipe and omit the brown sugar. Also...gonna try to cook them up on the Weber grill and git some more smokey flavor goodness on them. Wink SmileBig Smile

The grilled bacon wrapped oysters recipe was a bust... Sad Smile

However...this one is much better! Big SmileWink SmileTongue Smile

Braised Oysters

Ingredients :

* 1-quart fresh shucked oysters
* 1 tbs. shaved ginger
* 2 cloves garlic, chopped
* ¼ c oyster sauce
* 1 tbs. cornstarch
* 2 chopped green onions
* 1 tsp. white sugar
* Oil

Directions:

1. Put drained oysters into a 2-quart heat resistant bowl and cover them with boiling water.
2. Stir oysters gently to evenly distribute the boiling water through the oysters.
3. Let stand about 10 minutes, drain and set aside to cool.
4. Heat oil in wok.
5. Mix oyster sauce, sugar and cornstarch in a bowl and set aside.
6. Put oysters, ginger and garlic in heated wok.
7. Add salt, cover & simmer for 5 minutes.
8. Add oyster sauce mixture & simmer for 5 minutes more.
9. Remove from heat, garnish with green onion and serve with steamed rice

I stirfried some asparagus that blended nicely with this dish. Big SmileWink SmileTongue Smile
